LAHORE: Renowned journalist and writer Hameed Akhtar passed away in Lahore on Monday at the age of 87.
The Express newspaper columnist was suffering from cancer, and breathed his last at the Shaukat Khanam Memorial Hospital.Hameed Akhhtar was born in the Indian city of Ludhiana. He authored several books, including 'Aashnayian Kia Kia' and 'Kal Kothri'.He is survived by three daughters, including TV artist Saba Pervaiz, and a son.The columnist's funeral prayers will be offered in Lahore's Defence area tomorrow.http://tribune.com.pk/story/275806/renowned-journalist-hameed-akhtar-passes-away/
