Kazakhstan eager to join Belarusian-Russian orbital group of satellites
MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Kazakhstan is interested in joining the Belarusian-Russian orbital group of satellites, Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Belarus Farkhat Abdukhalykov told a press conference on 20 September.
"It is interesting for us. Our space agencies communicate rather vigorously," said Farkhat Abdukhalykov. In his words, developing cooperation in the space industry within the framework of the Customs Union is an extremely attractive prospect for Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. "We have been cooperating, including cooperation with Russia, in the space industry for a long time. We are interested in developing this partnership both with Russian scientists and Belarusian ones in the future," said Farkhat Abdukhalykov.
A Belarusian satellite will be inserted into orbit together with a Russian one by the same booster rocket. Thanks to this Belarus will be able to create a system of its own for remote Earth probing. Belarus will no longer have to buy space data collection and processing services from other countries. The Belarusian satellite will be able to provide space imagery of the entire country.
In the future Belarus and Russia plan to create a group of satellites that will be used for the benefit of the Union State. With an orbital group in place, more space industry services will be available to Belarusian and Russian customers.
