Russian Military Delegation Visits DPRK

A Russian military delegation has arrived in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) for a working visit which will last until Aug. 26, Russian Defense Ministry said Monday.

The delegation, led by Eastern Military District Commander Admiral Konstantin Sidenko, will meet with top DPRK officers, aimed at developing bilateral military cooperation, according to the ministry's press service. 

The two sides will discuss issues concerning naval cooperation, bilateral humanitarian exercises and mutual visits by warships, it added.

The DPRK's top leader Kim Jong Il is currently paying a weeklong official visit to Russia and is expected to meet with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev around mid-week, according to Itar-Tass.
