For the first time this put's the PLA's manpower below India's. How much below? An odd thing about India is that no one is quite sure what the army's manpower actually is, but its likely headed north of 1.3-million. India has 36 infantry, mountain, and armored divisions, plus three artillery, plus five CI 'forces' that are the size of divisions (typically 12 large infantry battalions). Under raising are two divisions plus an artillery division, and authorized are one division plus an artillery division.
