Reign of State Terror in Pasni , Balochistan against Trade Unionists
Reign of terror has been going on in coastal city of Pasni in Balochistan, 700 Km from Karachi since might night of 27 May. Local police along with secret agencies silhouette have made series of mid night raids at homes of political and trade union activists. Till the filling of this report ten innocent persons have been whisked away, five are lodged in jail and there no clue of five others.
The ordeal has started with an attack on Coast Guards' berth by unknown persons. The Coast Guard high ups and Anti Terrorist Force (ATF) alleged that Imam Bukhsh , 19 years was involved in the attack on the Coast Guards at 10pm on 27 May in pasni , he was also went into hide to escape from the wrath of security agencies. Imam Bukhsh was the nephew of Shahid Baloch, a trade unionist and leader of National Trade Union Federation, Pakistan (NTUF). The search operation had been conducted since 27 May all over Pasni city especially on Gulam Sarwer Street, Ward no. 6 in Psni here clan of Shahid Ali resided . The houses of close relatives of Imam Bukhsh and Shahid Baloc had been frequently raided, family members including womenfolk were humiliated badly and tried to arrest the sister of the alleged attacker.
The police conducted the raids at 2.15am on 28 May led by Muhammad Gul, SP Investigation Makran Division and arrested Dil Pul Baloch (50), General Secretary of Construction and Works Employees Union Pasni and active member of National Trade Union Federation (NTUF) along with Saeed Baloch (23 years factory worker at harbor), Khudada Baloch ( 40 years, Fisherman), Tahir Ali Baloch ( 30 years, Watchman at Pasni Fish Harbor Authority) Umaid Ali (25 years, watchman at Fisheries Department) and lodged all of them in local jail without any formal and legal charge sheet.
While five trade union and political activists including Anwas Sahib Khan (60 years veteran Baloch poet ), Shair Jan (16 years student), Nazeer Baloch (30 years Bus Conductor), Nadeem Baloch( 16 years part time employee at local hotel) and Bahair Abdi Baloch (38years, government Contractor) had been missing since 28 May. Their family members confirmed that they were picked up by the state secrete agencies person from their houses. They came in armor vehicles and reins the houses, burnt all belongings in houses and killed livestock indiscriminately.
The officials of Coast Guards, police department, Federal Constabulary (FC), the secrete agencies and Anti Terrorist Force (ATF) had forced entries at numbers of house to arrest Shaid Ali, maternal uncle of Imam Bukhsh but he had taken refuge at some unknown place. The close relatives of Shahid Ali Dil Pul (uncle), Saeed Baloch (nephew) and Khudadad (bother-in-law) was arrested and severely tortured, house was also gutted. Shaid Ali was the Senior Vice president of National Trade Union Federation, Balochistan Chapter and also General Secretary of Pansi Fish Harbor Authority Employees Union (CBA). He is also very active to organize workers of different sector including shipping and fisheries at 900 km coastal belt stretched from Indian Gujrat to Iranin boarder.
The people of the Pasni city and its surroundings were very annoyed with the treatment meant out by the so-called law enforcing agencies. There was total strike in Pasni; all the business and commercial activities and work on harbor had been halted in protest against the arrests, raid, damage to the houses and humiliation of female members of the families.
The main stream media is silence on the brutalities going on uninterruptedly against innocent peoples and there is no voice raised till now to stop the operation.
We appeal all of peace loving, democratic and workers organizations and individuals to put pressure on government immediately stop the reign of terror against civilian and conduct an independent enquiry under the impartial commission to punish the officials of secrete agencies, AFT, FC and police department.
