Why India Pakistan Talks Cannot succeed

Well dressed , well educated , from a family of all seasons in all parties and all regimes ! But does he have any control on Pakistans Foreign Policy ? Certainly not any of the major issues i.e India ,Afghanistan !


Why India Pakistan Talks Cannot succeed

1-Pakistans India policy and security policy is run by the Pakistani military.All talks or pretence of talks with India is a facade.

2-Pakistans Political leadership has no control on Pakistans security policy.

3-Both India and Pakistan are fighting an undeclared proxy war since 1947.

4-India thinks that Pakistani first strike doctrine poses a pre war threat to India and unless Pakistan is denuclearised India remains under threat.

5-It is not in institutional interest of Pakistani generals to have peace with India.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmud Qureshi has been bragging that Pakistan will not bow in front of India.The fact is that Shah Mahmud has little or no say in Pakistans India policy is hilarious.All talks foreign secretary and foreign ministerial or prime ministerial or presidential are a waste of time and precious money.

Only a fool thinks that there can be peace between India and Pakistan.The policy is made by what Gen Sunderjee referred to as blind men on both sides of the border.

I have never met Shah Mahmud Qureshi though a cousin of mine remembers him as a too proper prefect at Aitchison College.Oxbridge educated,Qureshi seems to be a man of some substance although from a family of Darbari background , as some say a family of all seasons,in bed with all who are in power , may it be ZAB or clown Zia; I would say Qureshi has no control on what he is bragging about.

Over the passage of years politicians have been a totally manipulated breed in Pakistan.They are pawns of the generals, neck deep in manipulation.Nothing that can be called self respecting autonomous personalities.

Till 1988 we had attached many hopes to Pakistans politicians.But when BB came , she had compromised on all that was substantial and was an utter disappointment.And then came the sharifs and then BB again followed by Sharifs and then the Delhi con man who made sure that all politicians are reduced to pygmies and robots.Manipulation par excellence.

Now one may ones pick if Pakistan would be a Somalia,Yugoslavia,Afghanistan,Iraq or Angola.

Doom and despondency surrounds the life of the vast multitude of Pakistanis who are neck deep in inflation and poverty.All potential suicide bombers !

While we may talk endlessly of peace.There shall be no peace.

The irrational forces of man as Freud said dominate man and this also sums up India Pakistan relationship.
